I made this card for a very special customer of mine to celebrate her birthday. I hope you like it as much as she did. The pretty paper is Flight and Airy. It is a freebie during Sale-a-bration (SAB). SAB is one of the most fabulous times of the Stampin’ Up! year. You can choose a free item from the SAB catalogue for every qualifying purchase.

This card is colourful but I’ve only used a limited colour palette of primary colours. My first version uses Real Red, Crushed Curry and Azure Afternoon. I used the colours in the cardstock and the balloons. Repeating the colours gives the card a cohesive feel.

The second card is the same design but is of the pastel variety. The colours are Petal Pink, Balmy Blue and Lemon Lolly. Which version do you think is best? Let me know in the comments below.

This is a really good size box that would be useful not only as a gift box but also as a storage box. The paper is gorgeous isn’t? It is the Flower & Field designer series paper which is a freebie I got during Sale-a-bration. There is very little wastage with this box as the belly band is made using the left over cardstock from making the base.

Measurements

  • Just Jade cardstock – 10″ X 10″ scored at 2″ on all sides
  • Field and Flower Designer Series Paper – 8 1/16″ X 8 1/16″, scored at 1″ on all sides.
  • 2″ strips of Just Jade Cardstock – Left over from cutting the base piece
