A Fun Fold with a Practical Twist

What I really love about this card is how interactive it feels without being complicated. The fold-over panel adds interest straight away, but it’s also functional, giving you that hidden area inside the card. It’s a lovely way to surprise the recipient and makes the card feel extra special.

Colour Palette: Calypso Coral & Lost Lagoon

The combination of Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon works beautifully with the Brushed with Beauty DSP. Calypso Coral adds warmth and energy, while Lost Lagoon brings a calm, elegant balance. Together, they frame the patterned paper perfectly and really allow the floral designs to shine.

The sentiment comes from the Encircled With Love stamp set. I love how clean and versatile these circular sentiments are – they sit perfectly on the front of the card and don’t overwhelm the design. The star of this project is the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper. The soft florals paired with earthy tones create an elegant backdrop that works for so many occasions. I’ve teamed it with Calypso Coral and Early Espresso cardstock, which really grounds the design while allowing the floral patterns to shine.

When the card is opened, the pop-out centre panel stands proud, creating depth and interest. It’s one of those cards that makes people stop, look, and ask, “How did you make that?” – always a good sign!

The sentiment comes from the With You In Mind stamp set. I love how versatile this set is – the fonts are modern yet timeless, and the sentiments work beautifully for birthdays, thank you cards, and thinking-of-you projects.

By keeping the stamping clean and uncluttered, the focus stays on the structure of the card and the gorgeous designer paper, while still delivering a heartfelt message.

Today I’m sharing a fun and festive Twisted Easel Card design — a perfect way to add a little interactive flair to your Christmas crafting! This card features the beautiful Peaceful Garden paper and coordinating glimmer paper for those sparkling doves. I’ve also used the Traditional Labels stamp set from Stampin’ Up! for that elegant Merry Christmas sentiment, and the Peace on Earth dies to cut out the glimmering doves.

The twisted easel fold creates a stunning display piece that stands beautifully on its own, making it ideal for mantelpieces or gift displays. It’s one of those designs that looks impressive but is surprisingly simple to put together once you know the trick.

Measurements

  • Poppy Parade / Night of Navy Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half + a quarter sheet of cardstock.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Peaceful Garden designer series paper (DSP) – 14.35 (13.85)cm X 10 (9.5)cm

I’ve made two versions of this design — one with a red base for a bold festive feel, and another with a navy base for a more serene winter look. Both highlight how versatile the Peaceful Garden paper can be. The addition of the sparkly blue doves adds a lovely pop of texture and shimmer, tying the whole design together.

If you love creating cards with plenty of dimension and visual impact, then you’re going to enjoy making this Diamond Stepper Card. It’s an eye-catching design that really shows off patterned paper, sentiments, and layered florals. Best of all, it folds flat for posting but stands beautifully when displayed.

The Diamond Stepper Style

The Diamond Stepper Card is designed with raised diamond-shaped panels that step up towards the back. This creates a striking, tiered effect that makes your flowers and sentiments the star of the show. It’s a brilliant way to take your cardmaking to the next level.

Two Seasonal Designs

I’ve made two variations of this card—one for autumn and one for Christmas:

  • Autumn Wishes Card – This version is made in Pretty Peacock and Old Olive. The bold teal florals paired with leafy greens give a rich seasonal feel, perfect for sending autumn greetings.
  • Merry Christmas Card – For the festive version, I used Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. The deep red florals are beautifully traditional and pair perfectly with the greenery and berries in the background.

Florals and Foliage

The layered flowers and leaves are all created using the Impressions Abloom Dies. The detailed embossing on the petals and leaves adds texture and interest, while the crisp white centres give a clean finishing touch.

Sentiments that Shine

Both cards feature large die-cut sentiments from the Words of the Season Dies. The metallic finish makes them sparkle and ensures they really pop against the patterned paper.

Background Paper

The background layers use the Elegant Pines Snowflake Designer Series Paper. This paper features pinecones, berries, and foliage—making it incredibly versatile for both autumn and Christmas projects.

These cards are fun to make and a joy to give. Imagine the delight when your recipient opens an envelope to find such a unique and dimensional card—it’s a keepsake in itself!

I love how the imagery in this DSP brings the card to life. The star of the show is the beautifully detailed bird, which I’ve fussy cut directly from the paper. It sits perfectly against the rustic wood background panel, giving the card a warm, nature-inspired feel.

The Z Fold Design

The Z Fold is such a versatile card style. It creates an interactive, layered look that’s perfect for showcasing multiple sentiments or coordinating designs. Here, the front panel holds the main decorative elements – including the “Let’s Celebrate” sentiment – while the inside reveals more greetings: “hello” and “birthday wishes”.

The card base is in Coastal Cabana, a cheerful colour that contrasts beautifully with the neutral tones in the DSP. It adds a fresh pop of brightness, making this a card that will stand out on any mantelpiece.

Finishing Touches

To add extra depth and interest, I’ve layered patterned DSP panels across the front and inside sections. Small embellishments, like the subtle gems, give just the right amount of sparkle without overpowering the focal point. Today, I’m excited to share this stunning Tri Fold Christmas Card that truly showcases the beauty of the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. This design is perfect if you want to highlight a scenic paper in all its glory. Using just one sheet creates a breathtaking panoramic view when the card is opened.

I used the Words of the Season and Traditional Labels stamp sets for the internal and external sentiments, respectively, giving it a crisp and festive feel. The focal point on the front features a beautifully fussy-cut bird from the Nests of Winter DSP. This has been layered over a rustic wood-look panel for extra warmth and texture.

Showcasing the Scenic Inside

The magic of this card really shines when it’s opened—the Tri Fold layout allows the full winter scene to be displayed, complete with delicate snowflakes and beautifully illustrated birds perched among frosted branches. It’s like stepping straight into a snowy woodland.

For the first card, I used Granny Apple Green cardstock as the base, paired with a lovely spring floral paper. The sentiment from the With You In Mind set is stamped in Strawberry Slush, coordinating beautifully with the floral tones.

The second card uses a Blackberry Bliss card base and a more purple-toned floral print from the same paper pack. The sentiment is stamped in a rich coordinating ink, giving it a bold finish that complements the base.

Both cards feature silver foil sheets between the cut layers. This not only helps define the split design but also adds a touch of shine and luxury that really makes the card pop. I also tucked some metallic ribbon loops behind the sentiment for extra texture and dimension.

The colours

For this project, I’ve featured some of the fabulous new 2025 In Colours. Card number 1 uses Timid Tiger and Secret Sea, while card number 2 replaces Timid Tiger with the yummy Strawberry Slush. Timid Tiger brings a bold pop of vibrant orange that’s perfect for birthdays and celebrations, and Strawberry Slush is the perfect summer pink. Secret Sea adds a soft contrast in cool, calming tones.

The pleated panel in the centre is a real showstopper! It creates depth and movement on the card front, drawing the eye to the focal point—the birthday sentiment. I love how the folds show off both the pattern and colour of the designer series paper in a completely new way.

To tie it all together, I added two sweet floral embellishments, which were fussy cut from the coordinating patterned paper. This is a great way to use up scraps and gives your card that extra handcrafted charm. The layered flowers are finished off with a touch of bling in the centre for a subtle sparkle.

Today, I’m sharing a bright and fun Zig Zag Gatefold Card featuring the As You Go Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin’ Up! and the Encircled in Love stamp set. This fold adds a little wow factor while still being simple to create, and it’s perfect for showcasing your favourite patterned papers.

This card comes together with a clever gatefold design that zig-zags open to reveal a bold and cheerful message inside. I used Azure Afternoon cardstock for the base, which pairs beautifully with the playful colours in the DSP.

The belly band keeps the card closed and adds an extra design element. It features the heartfelt sentiment “You’re on my mind and in my heart” from the Encircled in Love stamp set. I layered the sentiment and accented it with tiny gems for sparkle. I love that we still have circle punches, definitely a punch girl here.
