Bespoke Notebook – Follow your Art

I made this cute little bespoke notebook using the gorgeous paper from the Follow your Art suite of products from Stampin’ Up! The actual notebooks is a pound shop find but I’ve made it something special using pretty papers. The notebook is the perfect size for you to carry around for the hundred and one things we have to try and remember.

I love making little altered items such as this bespoke notebook. I think it’s a great way to personalise something cheap and make it something special.

measurements

  • Calypso Coral Cardstock – 5 7/8″ x 8 3/4 inches – Scored on the long side at 4 1/4 inches on each side.
  • Follow your Art Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 4 1/8 x 5 3/4 inches

This is a simple and easy project to make and Stampin’ Up!’s beautiful coordinating products make it super easy to put together. The stamp set is an old one called Crafting Forever. I simply love the sentiment that reads “Crafting Forever, Housework Whenever”. This is so true for most of us. Personally, I know that I much prefer to be in my craft room than doing the washing up.

The DSP is covered in hot glue guns and little bottles of glitter, although equally they could be bottles of glue and a drill. This is what makes this paper so great as there is something for everyone.

Do you like to alter items? What bespoke items have you made? Leave me a comment and let me know.

I’ve done a video as always which is below along with the supply list.

Thank you card Tutorial – Bird Ballard Suite

Thank you card tutorial using the Bird Ballard suite of products from Stampin’ Up!

I have another card to share with you today that features fussy cutting. Yes, its the birds again from the Bird Ballard designer series paper (DSP). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love the birds on this paper.

As I write this I can hear the birds tweeting merrily away outside. I think they are happy the days of rain have stopped and that we have a dry sunny day here today. I took my mother to the Chinese supermarket in town to get some mooli which is an Indian white radish. It is also called a daikon and is eaten often in South and East Asia. Outside the shop, there is a starling’s nest that has one baby. This baby is not too clever though, bless it. It keeps flying into the shop and the mother is forever calling for it to come back out. Perhaps it’s trying to imitate us and going shopping for food instead of searching the ground for it.

Simple and Quick Greetings Card

I have a simple and quick card tutorial for you today. This card is made using the Follow your Art designer series paper (DSP) It is a great card as without the bling it can easily double for a man’s card as well.

Simple and quick card for that special someone.
Simple and Cute card for that special someone.

I simply adore the Follow your Art DSP. It is beyond gorgeous. It is beyond versatile. A good example is the above pattern, which features brayers but they could equally be paint rollers.

I think sometimes we make cards that are too complex. We put a lot of time and love into our projects and unfortunately that is not always appreciated. I think there are times when a simple card can be just as beautiful and effective as one that took hours to make.

As you can see this card is super quick to make, but still has that wow element to it. The stitched nested label dies give a lovely edge detail to the foil sheet. It almost looks like little rivets.

Measurements

  • Balmy Blue A6 card base
  • Follow Your Art DSP – 14.35 x 10 cm.

As per normal there is tutorial video and supply list below.

Candle / Tealight Storage Box

Cute candle storage box that holds four dinky little tealights. A perfect little gift for a party bag or table favour. This can also double as a place name by changing the sentiment.

I don’t know about you but I love candles and have a huge collection of all shapes and sizes. I don’t really like the ones with a strong scent as they cause my allergies to act up. Sneezing and lighted candles don’t really go well together.

I have made this box many times through the years with different card and paper and every time it turns out super cute.

I have a question for you today. Do you like candles and if so what are your favourite ones? I love the wax melts as well and have one here in my craft room. They are all vanilla though. I did once have one that smelled of Jelly babies but that made me too hungry.
