I do love a pretty gift box or bag. I have tons but I am still making them. This a very simple box featuring the Snowy Scenes designer series paper (DSP). I’ve used the Take A Bow die to make the embellishment for the lid. You can find the full tutorial to make this bow in the previous blog post and on my YouTube channel.

If you are like me, when I saw a die that made bows I had to have it. As a person who can’t make a bow to save my life, I knew a die that would do it for me was for me. I received the die set. I opened it and stared at and stared at it some more. How was I meant to make a bow from this? I went to YouTube and watched a few tutorials and this is my way to use it.

6″X 6″ paper works perfectly for this die. I used the matching Take a Bow designer series paper (DSP). you need two sheets to make each bow. You need two of everything except the smallest strip. Watch the video below to see the full tutorial.

I love to use my scraps. I hate having tons of leftovers. Are you the same? This is a great way to use scraps. I took strips of designer series paper and stuck them to a piece of Basic White cardstock in an order that was pleasing to my eye. A tip is to ensure they are well stuck done, I used an adhesive sheet but you could also use a wet glue. This became my “new” patterned paper to die cut as I pleased.

Measurements

  • Garden Green Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm x 2 pieces

I call this my bullseye design as you have a single focal image on the card. Here it is this adorable Christmas Tree from the Decorative Trees stamp set. I’ve paired it with the Take a Bow designer series paper (DSP) to give a central pop of colour. The gold foil sheet used in the garlands gives it some Christmas bling!!

The minute I saw the Snowy Wonder stamp set in the new catalogue, I knew I wanted it. I love all these small images. They are versatile. I have so many ideas for future cards using this set. Today I’ve used the gorgeous little penguin. In my mind, the penguin is dancing with the candy cane. I was thinking of Fred Astaire but as a penguin.
