Make a Good Sized Christmas Gift Box – Merriest Moments – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK.

Sometimes I just have to do with traditional colours. Here they are Real Red and Mossy Meadow (Green). They look great together as they are complementary colours in the colour wheel. This means they are directly opposite to each other on the colour wheel. This makes the colours really pop when used together.

This box is very easy to make and I would certainly love to receive a special gift housed in this box. I do hope you give it a go and show me your creations in my Facebook group.

Make a Congratulations Card – Using your Scraps

Make a Congratulations Card – Using your Scraps – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

This is a very simple card based on a sketch. All the banners are made from scraps of designer series. The Banners Pick a Punch makes this so easy. You can make banners of 3 different widths and any length. So easy to line up and layer. The stamp set is Handrawn Blooms. I’ve cut out using a circle die and spotlighted certain flowers in yellow. Spotlighting is quite an effective technique to make an element pop from its background.

Do you love Red Poinsettias? Alcohol Markers – SU!

Do you love Red Poinsettias? Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I’m so impressed with how this card turned out. I love the red poinsettias. They are gorgeous. We always have one each year. My mother has actually managed to keep one a live for a few years now and each year the leaves turn red in the winter.

The poinsettia is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I actually used both Cherry Cobbler and Real red, graduating from lightest to darkest to get all the shading I wanted. I did the same with the leave using both Mossy Meadow and Old Olive. This I felt gave better depth and definition to the images. I layered up 3 different sizes of poinsettia leaves to get the 3D effect that you see here.

I love bows. I have tons of Christmas bows and always have to put ribbon or bows on any gift. These stamped ones are cute. I like the fact that I can colour them in any colour I fancy. You could also just punch them out of cardstock and layer them up for a more 3d effect.

There is always a push to move away from the traditional Christmas colours of green and red but I love them together all year around. They are complimentary colours in the colour wheel so will always make the other really pop.

Coffee Cup Sleeve – Make it Pretty – Stampin’ Up! – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I love these cute coffee cups. They are so cute. I personally don’t drink coffee as I find it too bitter and I don’t to keep adding sugar to make it passable. I intend to use these as treat holders for bags of chocolates or even candy canes.

And yes, the caddy is also Stampin’ Up! Next time I want to decorate it too and perhaps make the treat holders into candy cane holders now that we no longer have the punch board to make treat holders.

You will need to sacrifice one cup to make a template for the wrap. There are dies to make the sleeves and all the accessories.

Pretty Magnolia Bag – Magnolia Lane

I hope you are all keeping well. I have this pretty magnolia bag to share with you today. This bag has no cutting and very minimal adhesive. It is so easy to make and yet it looks so pretty.

I hope you were able to go out and see the magnolias this year. Even though we are under severe restrictions in regards movement we were able to see quite a few on the way to the supermarket. They were gorgeous and brought a smile to my face and joy to my heart.

This bag uses a full sheet of 12″ X 12″ paper with no wastage. I would use a pattern that has no direction as you might find your pattern upside down in certain areas. I’ve kept the design very simple so that the paper can do the talking. The ribbon and twine are all part of the Magnolia Lane suite of products. I love the way Stampin’ Up! makes co-ordination so very easy.

Magnolia Blooms Memory & More Cards

I have a very simple and easy card to share with you today. Shock, horror, it contains no stamping. This card uses the Magnolia Blooms Memory & More Cards to create this easy and simple card. This is perfect if you are new to crafting or want to make an easy but beautiful card in a hurry.

Stampin’ Up! have some wonderful product suites and Magnolia Blooms is an absolute favourite of mine. The designer series paper (DSP) and the Memory and More Cards match perfectly. Memory and More is Stampin’ Up!’s line of pocket scrapbooking. Each set contains both 6″ X 4″ cards as well as 4″ X 3″ cards in addition to some stickers and other speciality pieces. The cards vary in images and styles, some have journalling spots, sentiments and others are just images.

I have combined a 4″ X 3″ sentiment card with the DSP to make this card. As always all the colours match the cardstock perfectly, making for super easy crafting. I even used a sticker for the sentiment for the inside of the card!!

I love every year when the blossom and magnolias come out. It signals spring to me and the end of cold, dark and wet days. When the flowers are over the petals fall to the ground like confetti. I literally can’t wait for warm spring days so I can go walking and enjoying the glory of the natural world.

Magnolia Bookmark Tutorial

I have a bookmark to share with you today that I made using both Magnolia stamps sets from Stampin’ Up! I love this magnolia bookmark as it is involves colouring in which I find therapeutic. Floral stamp sets are some of my favourite ones and I have used these stamps many times already.

I used the blends to colour in this bookmark. The blends are alcohol markers from Stampin’ Up! and they really do blend beautifully. The colouring feels seamless with no lines or blotches. I have never managed very well with alcohol markers from other companies but the blends are a dream.

The Magnolia Blooms and Goodmorning Magnolia are all part of a huge suite of products called Magnolia Lane. The suite includes matching dies, embossing folder, designer series paper (DSP) and lots more.

I have kept the colour palette limited to Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow. This gives an elegant look without risking colours clashing.

GateFold Card – Magnolia Lane

I have a gatefold card to share with you today using the ever lovely Magnolia Lane designer series paper (DSP). Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of fancy folds with lots of frills and trims. I prefer to play with colour and texture. I gave it go and I’m quite pleased with the way it turned out.

I love the Magnolia Lane DSP. Currently, I’m making a paper bag mini album using this paper and have nearly finished my first packet so am off to order more shortly.

Mossy Meadow cardstock – A5 – (A5 is just an A4 sheet cut in half on the long side) – Score at 5.25cm on each side – I just used my trimmer to score it.
Magnolia Lane DSP – 10cm x 14.35cm
Whisper White cardstock – 10cm x 14.35cm

I’ve used the coordinating stamp set Good Morning Magnolia to stamp some flowers and foliage on the inside of this gatefold card. These stamps lend themselves beautifully to being coloured in with the Stampin Blends. I really enjoyed this part of the card as I adore colouring in.

I’m not sure I will do another gatefold card as I found it difficult to decorate and I don’t feel it’s my style. Do you have a particular style? Let me know in the comments.

Magnolia Lane – Scented Sachet

The Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP) is used to make a simple scented sachet that is perfect for a thank you gift to a special someone.

This scented sachet is perfect for those that like “smelly” things. I suffer badly with allergies and in particular hayfever and so am not a fan of what I call “smelly” things like strongly perfumed roses or sprays.

This sachet using the perfume pearls from Comfort that go in your washing machine. The scent I chose was Fuchsia Passion. I felt the style of the Magnolia Lane DSP was crying out for this type of project.

Measurements

Magnolia Lane DSP – 3.5″ x 9 inches
Scored on the 9 inch side at 4 and 8 inches
Scored on the 3.5 inch side at half an inch on both sides.

This project is a very simple pocket style sachet that holds your perfumed beads.
