I love the simplicity of this Christmas Card. The main star of the card is the Falling Snow background stamp. I’ve white heat embossed it on Azure Afternoon cardstock and then ink blended in the same colour over the top. The white heat-embossed areas resist the ink and stay bright white. Such a gorgeous effect.

measurements

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Azure Afternoon Cardstock – 1/4 sheet of A4 cardstock.

I am a big fan of big, bold sentiments. The More Wishes stamp set is one of my favourites and will never leave my stash. I’ve used it so many times. The font and size are great. I’ve stamped it here alternatively in Shaded Spruce and Real Red, creating this dramatic card.

Many times we forget that we can clear heat emboss with any of the 50 colours of Stampin’ Up! ink. You don’t need to have tons of different powders, just one will do the trick. The stamp set is More Wishes, a firm favourite of mine. I’ve used Cherry Cobbler ink above and Misty Moonlight below. Which looks best to you?

I love heat embossing. It never loses its magic. White heat embossing on coloured cardstock is so effective. It makes the white text really pop from the background.

The stamp set is More Wishes and matches the font of the Biggest Wish stamp set in the annual catalogue. I love its big bold sentiments so this works for me.

Do you like heat embossing? I have quite a collection of different embossing powders. A goal is to use them more and explore all the various techniques for heat embossing.

Most of the time we heat emboss on plain cardstock and more often than not on white cardstock. Here I’ve heat embossed on designer series paper (DSP). It really works well. The one thing to remember is to choose a colour of embossing powder that will really pop against your background. Here the white really pops against the dark background.

I’ve added mini embellishments here, letting the heat-embossed sentiment be the star of the show. The stamp set is More Wishes and is a Christmas version of Biggest Wish from the main catalogue. These sets are firm favourites of mine. I adore the big, bold font.
