Life is Better When We’re Having Fun Together – SU!

Life is Better When We’re Having Fun Together – Stampin’ Up! – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK

Oh my gosh, I love this card. Aren’t these little critters so cute? They are from the Freezin’ Fun stamp set and accompanying dies.

Life is Better When We’re Having Fun Together – Alcohol Markers – Stampin’ Up!-

I coloured everything in using the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. Colouring in is very therapeutic I find. I am immersed in what I’m doing and forget about everything else.

As I said the stamp set is “Freezin’ Fun” and has matching dies, of course. The minute I saw this set in the catalogue I knew I had to have it. I love that there is the stitched hillside die as well to give you this wonderful snowy scene. Alternative you could use this die for green flowing hills as well.

measurements

  • Night of Navy A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Balmy Blue – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Whisper White 14.35cm X 7cm

Does Anyone Want To Skate? Warm & Toasty – Stampin’ Up!

Does Anyone Want To Skate? Warm & Toasty – Stampin’ Up! – Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

Does Anyone Want To Skate? Warm & Toasty - Stampin' Up!”
Does Anyone Want To Skate? Warm & Toasty – Stampin’ Up!”

Isn’t this polar bear skating, the cutest? I love him and if you’re not a fan of colouring in, he is perfect as you only need to colour in his hat and scarf. He has been fussy cut out as there are no dies. I am so impressed with my fussy cutting as I hate it. Some people find it relaxing but not me!! If I can do it though so can you.

I love the sentiment here, “Warm & Toasty”. It’s not traditional but still very cute. I coloured and stamped using my Stampin’ Write markers making this card very simple and easy to make.

Make Your Scraps Useful – Christmas Card – Independant Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK

Make Your Scraps Useful - Christmas Card
Make Your Scraps Useful – Christmas Card

I had some scraps left over from making my gift bag featured in the previous post. Rather than just putting them back into my stash I decided to use them to make this simple and easy Christmas Card. I do need to start making more cards if I am going to have enough to send myself and for my mother to send as well.

Make Your Scraps Useful - Christmas Card
Make Your Scraps Useful – Christmas Card

The Poinsettia Place designer series paper (DSP) is great as it can be used for Christmas but also for other seasons such as Autumn as well. I love this berry design as soon we will be in Autumn and see the birds gorging themselves on berries to fill up their tummies.

  • Garden Green A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Poinsettia Place scraps cut to 14.35 long. Make sure you two pieces of scrap will make a 10cm wide piece of paper. The total measurement of the two pieces of scrap is 14.35cm X 10cm

Make Christmas a Little More Special – Stampin’ Up! – My first Christmas card of the year

Yes, I’m starting to make my Christmas cards already. I want to make enough cards for me to send and for my mother as well to send to her friends. That is a lot of cards to make!!

Make Christmas a Little More Special - Stampin' Up!
Make Christmas a Little More Special – Stampin’ Up!

I think it would be wonderful if we could all make Christmas a little more special this year. For me this means, connecting with more people from my family in South Africa and friends around the world.

I love this design from the Plaid Tidings designer series paper (DSP). The colours are Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce. I would never have thought these two colours would go together but they do.

measurements

  • Pretty Peacock A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and the folded in half
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Plaid Tidings – 13.85cm X 9.5cm

Elfie Christmas Card Tutorial Stampin’ Up!

I have this fun Elfie Christmas card to share with you today. When I saw this in the catalogue, I fell in love straight away. It is a playful and cute set that is perfect for children’s cards.

Elfie Christmas Card
Elfie Christmas Card

The colours here are Poppy Parade and Call me Clover. They are great Christmas colours, especially for this elf. I’ve coloured the image in with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to match the cardstock and paper colours.

If you do Elf on The Shelf then this stamp is a perfect accompaniment. You can make matching gift tags, greetings cards and Christmas decorations.

measurements

  • Poppy Parade A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Whisper White – 10cm x 6.5cm
  • Poppy Parade – 10.5cm x 7cm
  • 2018-2020 In Color – Call Me Clover – 14.35cm x 10cm

I love simple and easy cards like this. Again this is a great card for kids to make as you stamp the image and then can have fun colouring them in.

I wanted to let people know that the last order date is the 15th December for orders to arrive before Christmas. The Autumn / Winter catalogue though goes through until 3rd January.

The Bells are Ringing – Christmas Card Tutorial

It is yet another grey and ugly day in Lincoln. I have this gorgeous Bells are Ringing Christmas card to share with you. Bad weather days are perfect for crafting I think. What do you think?

The Bells are Ringing - Christmas Card Tutorial
The Bells are Ringing – Christmas Card Tutorial

I haven’t used this set yet and now I wish I had. These bell dies are beautiful. They are intricate and cut so cleanly. I didn’t have to pick out any bits from them. This card is very simple but the sentiment does ring out a true note of Christmas. It is my favourite sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Night of Navy cardstock – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 9.5cm x 7cm
  • Whisper White – 9cm X 6.5cm

This blog post will go live on the 2nd of December. I am doing it early though as I have to take my mother to Queens Medical Centre for an eye appointment. They are going to put a dye in her vein that will go up to her eyes so they can verify whether her macular generation is wet or dry. I think it’s wet in this eye though, as I am sure that is what Moorfields in London told us.

Back to a lighter note, have you started making your Christmas Cards yet? Do you still make many? I feel the decline in card giving in the last of years is quite sad. I love receiving a card with a personal message from someone.

Snowman Christmas Card Tutorial – Stampin’ Up!

I have a bright and fun Snowman Christmas Card to share with you today. I love the bold and colourful colours in the background that just make you smile on the grey days of winter weather.

Snowman Christmas Card Tutorial - Stampin' Up!
Snowman Christmas Card Tutorial – Stampin’ Up!

This snowman looks so happy playing in the snowflakes. I have to say that I love red all year round but especially at Christmas. It makes the whole image just pop from the background.

The stamp set is Snowman Season. It has 3 different snowmen in it, one of which co-ordinates with a punch. I’ve used this one on a previous card which I will link below.

measurements

  • Coastal Cabana A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Bermuda Bay 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Let it Snow Designer Series Paper (DSP) 13.85cm x 9.5cm
  • Real Red – 7.5cm x 7.5cm

I’ve accented the card with rhinestones and the beautiful real red cotton ribbon. This ribbon is lovely and soft and therefore easy to make into a nice bow.

Other Christmas Projects

I feel sad that I haven’t used this DSP enough. I think I will make a mini album with it as well. This will work double fold as it makes something pretty and will use up all my spare DSP.

I have a supply list and video tutorial below.

Simple Christmas Card – Feels Like Frost DSP

I have a super simple Christmas card to share with you today. The Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper (DSP) is stunning. I didn’t feel it needed much to turn it into a card and this is what I have created.

Simple Christmas Card - Feels Like Frost DSP
Simple Christmas Card – Feels Like Frost DSP

I really wanted the DSP to do the “talking” on this card and therefore have only added a simple sentiment and some Coastal Cabana rhinestones for bling. The Feels Like Frost DSP is very versatile. One side has the lovely wintery scenes while the reverse has white and silver foil elements for real Christmas glamour.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Feels Like Frost DSP – 14.35cm x 10cm

I love quick and easy cards like this as they can be made by anyone. Even if you are busy you can still give that handmade card that means to much to people.

Inlaid Punch Technique – Christmas Card Tutorial

I have a very simple but very effective technique to share with you today. I’ve used the technique of inlaid die cutting but with a punch instead. Wrapped in Plaid must be my most used Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the whole catalogue. I love it!! I’ve used scraps here to make this great card.

Inlaid Punch Technique - Wrapped in Plaid Christmas Card - Stampin' Up!
Inlaid Punch Technique – Wrapped in Plaid Christmas Card – Stampin’ Up!

The cherry cobbler and shaded spruce are very traditional Christmas Colours. The white of the trees really makes them pop on this card. I should warn you, that you can not punch out the trees and use the reverse of the image as these trees are not symmetrical. You will need to punch the trees again from scrap cardstock. I then used liquid glue to inlay the trees into the punched “holes”. Don’t through out the first punched trees as you can use them on another card, that I will link below.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Wrapped in Plaid DSP – 14.35cm x 10cm

I love simple and easy projects such as this as time can be at a premium and it’s great to still be able to give that a handmade card.

Dashing Deer Christmas Card Tutorial

Here is another simple card featuring a cute dashing deer. The Dashing Deer and Detailed Deer dies are in the main catalogue. I love these deer which are beautifully intricate and real stars.

Dashing Deer Christmas Card Tutorial
Dashing Deer Christmas Card Tutorial

I have used “Very Vanilla” cardstock as the background colour as it felt less harsh than whisper white against the crumb cake of the deer. The real red flowers give the whole card a pop of colour.

Measurements

  • Real Red A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock – 14.35cm x 10cm

Back home in South Africa, I love seeing the antelope and buck in the game reserves. My favourite is the Impala. They are so graceful as they run across the Veldt. It is truly a beautiful thing to behold.
