Elegant, Quick and Easy Christmas Card – Great to Batch Produce. – Light and Wonder – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – UK

Today’s project is an elegant yet simple Christmas card that’s perfect if you’re planning to make a large batch this festive season. It features the Light and Wonder stamp set from Stampin’ Up!—a beautifully versatile set that can be used for Christmas, winter, or even everyday cards.

The sentiment I chose, “Love and Light”, holds a special meaning for me. It’s a phrase my cousin back in South Africa often uses, and it immediately reminded me of her when I saw it. That warm connection inspired today’s card design.

A Simple but Elegant Design

The background paper is from the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper collection. Its soft botanical patterns add a serene and classy touch to the overall design without overpowering the sentiment.

The sentiment itself is stamped using Night of Navy ink, creating a crisp, timeless contrast against the white background. I made two versions of the card—one with the sentiment panel backed in gold foil and another in silver foil. Both add a subtle touch of shimmer and elevate the design beautifully.

Because the layout is so clean and minimal, this card is ideal for batch production. You can easily prepare multiple bases, cut your foil layers in advance, and stamp all your sentiments at once. It’s a great way to make elegant handmade cards quickly and efficiently.

A Thoughtful, Personal Touch

I love how this card combines simplicity with heartfelt meaning. Sometimes, inspiration can come from the smallest things—a word, a memory, or even a phrase that connects you to someone special. Love and Light perfectly captures that spirit, making this design not only beautiful but also deeply personal.

What is the Difference Between Heat and Dry Embossing?

What is the Difference Between Heat and Dry Embossing? – Christmas Greenery – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Embossing is a wonderful way to add texture, depth, and a professional finish to your handmade cards. In today’s project, I’ll be showing you both heat embossing and dry embossing, using the beautiful Traditions of Christmas Suite from Stampin’ Up!

Dry Embossing

For the background, I’ve used the Peaceful Greenery Embossing Folder, which creates a delicate foliage frame around the central design. This technique is known as dry embossing. It’s achieved by running cardstock through an embossing folder with your die-cutting machine. The result is a raised (embossed) texture that instantly adds interest and a touch of elegance to any card design.

Heat embossing

For the focal image, I’ve used the Christmas Greenery stamp set and gold heat embossed the design. Heat embossing involves stamping your image with a sticky embossing ink, sprinkling on embossing powder, and then using a heat tool to melt the powder. The result is a beautiful, shiny, and raised effect that really stands out.

watercolouring

Once the image was heat embossed, I coloured it using Stampin’ Up! ink pads and Water Painters. You need to use Fluid 100 watercolour paper. Basic White cardstock cannot cope with water. The colours are Real Red and Garden Green, perfect for traditional festive florals. The sentiments—“Merry Christmas” and “Season’s Greetings”—are from the Greetings For You Ephemera Pack, which coordinates perfectly with this suite.

To finish off, I added some sparkle using the Traditional Sparkling Sequins, also from the Traditions of Christmas Suite. These sequins bring just the right amount of shimmer to the finished cards, catching the light beautifully.

Both embossing techniques complement each other perfectly—dry embossing adds texture and structure, while heat embossing brings shine and definition. Together, they create elegant and festive cards that are sure to impress anyone this Christmas season.

Revisting Slimline Cards – Make a Christmas Scene Card With Me – North Pole Delivery – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – UK

Create a Festive Slimline Card Full of Christmas Charm

It’s been a while since I’ve made a slimline card, so I thought it was the perfect time to revisit this fun format — and what better occasion than Christmas? Slimline cards offer plenty of room to create a scene, and these festive makes were a joy to design.

For these cards, I used the North Pole Delivery paper collection, which includes two gorgeous die-cut sheets. The pre-printed designs make it so easy to build detailed, layered scenes full of festive character — perfect for anyone who loves storytelling through papercraft.

Creating the Christmas Scene

Both cards feature a cosy Christmas village backdrop complete with shopfronts, wreaths, and snow-topped roofs. The houses instantly set the scene for a festive delivery day at the North Pole!

I added the adorable bear and fox die-cuts carrying letters and parcels, along with extra details like a postbox, truck, and snowy trees to bring the story to life. Each piece layers beautifully, helping you create a charming and balanced composition across the slimline format.

To give the design even more personality, I used the Jolly Delivery stamp set to stamp paw prints along the bottom edge — such a simple detail, but one that ties the whole card together perfectly.

Finishing Touches

For the sentiments, I reached for the Greetings for You ephemera pack. These sticker-style greetings coordinate beautifully with the papers, adding shine and texture without needing extra adhesive. I used “Merry Christmas” and “Season’s Greetings” for my cards — classic festive phrases that complete the look.

The result? Two heart-warming slimline cards that capture all the excitement and warmth of the Christmas season. They’re ideal for sending to family and friends who love the magic of Christmas scenes and animal-themed designs.

measurements

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock – 21cm X 20cm scored at 10cm on the 20cm side.

Why Try a Slimline Card?

Slimline cards are a great way to showcase patterned paper and layered die-cuts. Their longer shape allows for more storytelling space, making them perfect for scenic designs like this one. Plus, they fit neatly into standard DL envelopes — so you can post them easily without needing a custom size.

Creating the Card

The focal image on this card was cut directly from the Traditions of Christmas paper using the matching dies. This is one of my favourite tricks for making multiple cards quickly — the paper does all the hard work for you!

I mounted the image on a deep Cherry Cobbler background, framed with a gold oval for a touch of elegance. The sentiment Season’s Greetings comes from the Traditional Labels stamp set, perfectly tying the design together.

This layout is ideal for batch-making cards — simply die-cut several images from the patterned paper, stamp your sentiments, and assemble. You’ll have a whole set of festive cards ready in no time!

A Touch of Classic Christmas Charm

What I love most about this project is its balance of simplicity and sophistication. The combination of bold red tones, gold detailing, and traditional Christmas florals captures the season beautifully.

Whether you’re new to cardmaking or just looking for a quick project, this design will help you create elegant cards with minimal effort — perfect for sending handmade joy this Christmas!

Make a Fun Christmas Card With Me – Jar of Joy – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Today I’m sharing a bright and cheerful Christmas card design that’s perfect for spreading festive joy. This project features the Jar of Joy stamp set with the coordinating Sweet Jar builder punch. I had so much fun creating these cards, and I think you’ll enjoy making them too!

A Playful Jar Design

The Jar of Joy stamp set is a two-step stamp set, which makes it easy to build up fun little festive scenes inside the jars. I chose a mix of images for these cards, from gingerbread biscuits to ornaments and even a sweet little snowman. Each jar feels like a tiny snapshot of Christmas magic.

Colouring with Stampin’ Blends

All the images were coloured using Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers, which give such a smooth and vibrant finish. The markers allow for beautiful shading, bringing the gingerbread man, baubles, and snowman to life with extra depth and detail.

Christmas Tags and More Backgrounds

For the background, I used papers from the Christmas Tags and More collection. These patterns add a festive base to the card while letting the jars really shine as the main focus. I especially love how the plaid and leafy prints create two different but equally joyful looks.

Finishing Touches

A simple red bow tied in the corner of each card completes the design with a pop of festive charm. The sentiment, “Wishing you the sweetest Christmas,” ties everything together perfectly and makes these cards ideal for gifting to family and friends this season.
