The designer series paper (DSP) is Brightly Gleaming. It is simply gorgeous with copper foiling. This DSP carried over from last Christmas and I am happy I can share it with you again. This is a great size box. It measures 4″ X 4″ which is a lovely size. You could use it for all sorts of Christmas treats eg. fudge, cookies or Christmas tags.

The stamp set Wrapped in Christmas. I love the font. It is so elegant and matches beautifully with the DSP. The sheer red ribbon it gorgeous and still allows you to see the DSP underneath.

This little reindeer is so cute. I’ve made him into Rudolph by adding a red gem to his nose. He has been coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. Yes, I did fussy cut as sad there aren’t die but he wasn’t difficult to cut out. I used a black marker around the edge to cover up any mistakes in my fussy cutting.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Tis the Season – Half a sheet of 6″ X 6″

I used masking paper to mask these candles when I stamped with the green holly leaves. It works well and allows you to layer stamps without the other stamps showing through. There are no dies for the candle but they are really easy to cut out yourself. You just stamp on the masking paper and then cut it out. The paper is repositionable and doesn’t harm the stamping underneath. The red rhinestones just give it that touch of bling, I think they look like holly berries.

I’m so impressed with how this card turned out. I love the red poinsettias. They are gorgeous. We always have one each year. My mother has actually managed to keep one a live for a few years now and each year the leaves turn red in the winter.

The poinsettia is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I actually used both Cherry Cobbler and Real red, graduating from lightest to darkest to get all the shading I wanted. I did the same with the leave using both Mossy Meadow and Old Olive. This I felt gave better depth and definition to the images. I layered up 3 different sizes of poinsettia leaves to get the 3D effect that you see here.

Easy Watercolouring with pencils – Tips & Tricks – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I have always loved to paint. The mixing and flowing of colours fascinate me. I dabbled in watercolour painting before I started papercraft and haven’t lost the love. If you are new to watercolouring then pencils make for such as easy entry to the medium. We all played with colouring pencils as kids. You are just colouring as you did as a child.

The video below goes through a few tips for easy water colouring including, what paper to use, how to lay down colour and how to blend it. The phrase is that practice makes perfect and that is certainly true here. The more you practise the less scary it becomes and the more you will enjoy it. Don’t be afraid to try, there is no one watching and you can as many mistakes as you like. We all make mistakes, that is how we learn.

measurements

  • Night of Navy A6 cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Real Red cut to 0.5cm bigger than your shimmer white piece each way.
  • Shimmery White – cut down as you wish to capture your image.

I love this sentiment from the Christmas Means More stamp set. It’s bold, easy to use and what’s more it really says how a lot of us are feeling this year. Here in England we are in lockdown again and I think whatever happens Christmas will be special this year.

I’ve heat embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder and paired it with the Tis the Season designer series paper (DSP). It makes for a simple but stunning Christmas card. I love heat embossing. It is still magic to see this dull powder turn into some glossy and pretty.

Measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Tis the Season DSP – 14.35cm X 10cm

These bags would be perfect for a table favour any time of the year but I love this Christmas version. You could put a little Ferrero Roche in each one. They are super easy to make as they involve no cutting at all.

Considering Christmas this year is likely to be very different for most people than normal, it will be nice to make it extra special. These little handmade touches make any occasion extra special. You could use the same Tis The Season designer series paper to make little place names or Christmas decorations.

I love the sentiment on this card. Due to social distancing I think we will need to sing our Christmas Cheer loud so that it can be heard everywhere!! I’m not a great singer admittedly but I do love dancing. At school I did both ballet and what we called National Dancing which was the study of folk dances of many european countries.

This is a a very simple card. The green is tone on tone of Shaded Spruce which makes the Real Red really pop. They are complementary colours on the colour wheel and a great traditional pairing for Christmas.

Yes, this is another Christmas card but I am going to need plenty for not just me to send but for my mother to send as well. This card was made using up my scraps of Plaid Tidings designer series paper. I love being able to use my scraps and still make something pretty.

The cardbase is Pretty Peacock. I wasn’t overly fond of this colour when it came out but it is growing on me and I am starting to really like it. The combination of Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce in this designer series paper is beautiful and a combination I would never have thought of. I’m sold now on it.
