I do love a cute shaker card, don’t you? This one uses the Bottled Happiness stamp and punch set. There are coordinating shaker domes and I love them. This card shouts summer to me. I do love my flowers and especially any flowers with big blowsy blooms. Just stunning.#

Using Your Background Stamps in a Different Way – Knit Together – Go To Greetings – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up Demo!

Welcome to this Focus Friday post. I wanted to play this week with the large background stamp, ” Knit Together”. I’ve only used it once before. It’s a great stamp set. I’ve stamped it twice and then cut it apart to make these strips.

I am part of a larger team of demonstrators here in the UK. In our group page we have every Monday, something called Mojo Monday. This week the colour challenge was to use Basic Grey, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. This was my creation.

A Touch of Ink – Easy Two Step Stamping – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I really love how this card turned out. The two step stamping is quite sketchy and it looks good. I’ve used this set before and coloured it in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. It gives a totally different effect and makes this set so versatile. The colour here is Melon Mambo and is my favourite pink colour of all time. It’s so bold, bright and utterly beautiful to me. I have quite a few embellishments which I don’t alway use, hence the sequins. They look great don’t they?

Oh wow, I simply love this card. It has such a wow factor and it’s so easy to do. The background is just one stamp that I have heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Don’t you love it? Heat embossing can be such a forgotten technique and yet it is magic everytime you see it. This dull powder turning to something beautiful, just like here. I heat embossed the sentiment so that everything matches. So simple and yet so elegant.

I love these layered flower sets. This one is called Art Gallery. I’m writing this blog a couple of days before Christmas. A friend of my mothers has gone into hospital for a knee replacement operation. I made this card to send to her and I thought I would share it with you. The epoxy clear gems in the centre of the flowers make the card pop and give it dimension.

Make a Magnetic Closure Christmas Gift Box – Brightly Gleaming – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I’ve used the Brightly Gleaming designer series paper (DSP) here to make these cute little gift boxes. I think the copper foiling really pops against both the Real Red and Melon Mambo pink. These boxes were both made using scraps of DSP from making another gift box which I will feature shortly on this blog.

I used small neodymium earth magnets that I got online for the magnetic closure. I covered both with some DSP so that the magnets were not so strong. The stamp set is Wrapped in Christmas and has some matching dies as well. This sentiment also matches the 1 1/2″ circle punch perfectly as well. I love punches and tend to use them rather than dies whenever I can.

  • Real Red / Melon Mambo – 8″ X 7 1/2″, Scored on the:
    • 8″ side at 1″, 2″ & 7″

Feeling Blue! Make a Thank You Card & Smile - Best Year - Stampin' Up!
Feeling Blue! Make a Thank You Card & Smile – Best Year – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve always loved the combination of pink and blue. I remember having two My Little Ponies, one was pink and one was blue and I always though they were perfect friends. Plaid Tidings is the paper here. I am using it all the time and why not when it it is so gorgeous. The pink in the paper is Melon Mambo and I’ve picked this up again with the mat around the sentiment.

I hope you are all keeping safe in the current conditions. As always I find that crafting is my saviour as it gives both my mind hands busy and when you are busy you can’t think. Not thinking is a bonus some days. Anyway enough of that and back to crafting.

Simple and Easy Elegant Thank You Card

The lattie work in the background of this card is all one die called the Many Medallions diet. I’ve used adhesive sheet to glue it to my cardstock so that I am not struggling with tiny beads of glue oozing it everywhere. It does make for a stunning backdrop for my sentiment. As usual I’ve used bold colours for a contrast so that everything pops from the page.

Pink Zebras – Zany Zebras – Stampin’ Up!

I love these pink zebras. They are such fun, kicking up their heels and enjoying life.

Pink Zebras - Zany Zebras - Stampin' Up!
Pink Zebras – Zany Zebras – Stampin’ Up!

The pink used here is my favourite pink, Melon Mambo. I love it!! It is bold and vibrant. These zebras are just too cute. As I’ve told you before my maternal family are all in South Africa. As a child went home to South Africa many times, I was lucky enough to go the Kruger National Park and see the zebras in their natural habitat. This zebras remind me of those happy times.

I am really enjoying making these monochromatic cards. They are striking and require a minimum of supplies. I made a similar card using the colour called Bermuda Bay. I will link it below.
