Stamps

  1. TYPES OF STAMPS
    • There are two types of stamps that Stampin’ Up! sell:
      1. CLING MOUNT STAMP SETS
        • These are made of red rubber
        • Can be highly detailed and fairly large as needed
        • You can stamp with different mediums including permanent inks and paint.
        • Have adhesive image labels
        • Can be inked using the Stampin’ Write markers.
      2. PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SETS
        • Transparent
        • Can be precisely aligned for repeat stamping, two-step stamping or to create a scene.
        • You can easily mix and match sentiments on a single block.
        • Allows perfect layering of images to create an image with different shadows and depth
  2. INKS
    • Dye-based and acid-free
    • Can be used for heat embossing
    • Come in a range of 50 colours which match the cardstock and markers
    • Two Black inks. Stazon which I use for stamping when I’m going to use watercolour. Memento which I use as general black ink and when I use Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers
  3. STAMPING BLOCKS
    • Grooved to make them easy to hold
    • Come in 9 different sizes
    • Can be stored in the storage caddy for easy transporting
    • Use to hold your stamps to stamp with
  4. CARDSTOCK
    • I mainly use Whisper White or Very Vanilla to stamp on as they are super smooth and perfect for stamping.
    • Huge range of 53 colours
    • 218gsm weight cardstock
    • Colours match inks, markers and embellishments
  5. SIMPLY SHAMMY
    • Thick cloth for easy cleaning of stamps.
    • Run it under water and squeeze out the excess.
    • Makes it easy to clean detailed stamps

These are all the items I use on an everyday basis to stamp with. I find them invaluable and wanted to share them with you. I hope you find this post useful and the accompanying video. Listed below are the other videos in this series. I hope to do some more covering other areas of papercrafting.

Introduction to crafting

I hope you are all keeping well and safe. Remember you can shop with me here at any time. I find crafting a marvelous way to forget about what is going on in the world and just immerse myself in something fun. I would be truly lost without my craft room but even more importantly the wonderful friends I have made through crafting.

Gift Bag to hold a tea bag and yummy chocolate.
Gift Bag to hold a tea bag and yummy chocolate

I love making little bags like this to give small gifts. I think we all need a little gift sometimes to remind us that we are loved and that people around us do care about us.

The rose and butterfly pattern on this paper is gorgeous. I have a beautiful red rose that is now in flower outside my front door and it gives me great pleasure every time i see it. I do love flowers and butterflies and like a lot of crafters I am a sucker for stamp set or paper that is floral in nature.

Measurements

  • Mint Macaroon Cardstock – 8.5 inches x 7.5 inches
  • Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper – 12cm x 7cm x 2
  • Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper – 3.5cm x 7cm x 1

Scoring

As always I have completed a video that shows you exactly how to make up this little bag. The link is below with supply list.

Initially when I saw the Mosaic Mood DSP in the catalogue I wasn’t too impressed with it but the more I use it the more I fall in love with it. I love the fact the mosaic has an embossed feel to it and the patterns are so versatile and beautiful. Here is the link to another project using this lovely paper.

I do love flowers but I have to say that I also enjoy growing food that I can eat. I’ve planted out some carrots, tomatoes and lettuce today and hope to be enjoying home grow salads soon.

I hope you have a lovely day, until next time Enjoy Being Creative!!

Cute gift box which is perfect for a lovely birthday treat for someone special.

I have another lovely project to share with you today. Here is simple and easy gift box that is perfect for that special gift for someone important.

Cute Gift Box – Magnolia Lane, made using supplies from Stampin’ Up!

This box is quick and easy to make thanks to the wonderful coordinating products that Stampin’ Up! provides. The box is made from Mossy Meadow cardstock and the lovely Magnolia Lane designer series paper. The magnolias have already flowered sadly but this paper can keep them alive and is great for the gardener in the family. I think this box would have been perfect for my Granny with a lovely little soap in it.

In Lincoln we had some lovely pink and white magnolias that were out a few months ago. I do like the spring flowers as they herald the start of warmth and beauty.

Fussy Cut Humming Birds Kissing Birthday Card

Hello,

Welcome to my first birthday card of the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue. Can you believe that we are approaching half way through the year. I certainly can’t. I have exciting new for you all. Tomorrow is the launch of the new annual catalogue. If you haven’t got your copy already then just click on the contact me button and I will get one right out to you.

The new catalogue is full of yummy goodies, one of these being the Memorable Mosaic Suite of products. Demonstrators were lucky enough to get the paper free at OnStage Local in April and I was able to order the matching stamp and punch in my preorder. There is a video showing all my preorder on my YouTube Channel.

This paper is fabulous and as it has many elements that can be fussy cut out as I have done here with these two “kissing” birds.

Simple and Easy Birthday Card using the Memorable Mosaic Suite of Products from Stampin’ Up!

The measurements for this cards are very simple:

  • Terracotta Tile A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then each half folded in half.
  • Whisper White Matt piece – 14.35cm x 10cm

All the supplies used are listed below. I love this card as its so simple and easy to make but looks beautiful while showing off the detail of the designer series paper.

Eastern Palace Suite Available to Order

Hiya,

Happy May Day

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful bank holiday. I spent a large part of it taking my mother plant shopping. She has bought tons of tubs, compost and plants. We only moved into this house last year so this is the year to start getting the garden into shape. We have quite a big back garden and a little bit out front as well. I bought some tomatoes to plant, also going to get some potatoes and later on lettuce. I love planting food. It is so rewarding to eat veggies you grew yourself.

Last month I went to convention in Amsterdam. I have never been to Amsterdam so was great to be able to go sight seeing as well. I saw Anne Frank’s house which I have always wanted to see as well as the Van Gogh Museum. The bonus of going to convention is you get to see the paper version of the new annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue and do a special pre order. I have done a video showing all the goodies I got in my order as well as the Eastern Palace Suite.

The Eastern Palace Suite is a suite of products in the new catalogue that is being made available as two special bundles ahead of the new catalogue launch. You can purchase them from today until 31st May through my online shop. The best bit is that you also get a freebie with each bundle. Yeah!!!

Until next time.

Enjoy Being Creative!!
