As I can write this in Lincoln the wind is blowing its guts out. I was thinking of any little birds and thinking the poor mites would be blown away if they weren’t careful.

This card has a lovely spring feel to it. Baby birds are one of the quintessential marks of spring as are new fresh green leaves. This card combines both of these.

This is a very simple card but I absolutely love the sentiment. The little kitty next to the door is extra cute. I think it’s great to send a card just to let someone know they are not alone.

The card is coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I love them as they are easy to blend and more importantly I enjoy using them. Which colouring medium is your favourite?

I love wisteria. We have one that curves above the living room window. It looks beautiful every Spring. There is another one in a local village that covers the whole wall of a shop. This inspired me to make this card.

I’ve kept the colour palette quite simple here, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Old Olive. It makes me long for Spring and beautiful fresh flowers.

How to Make This Penguin Snowflake Card- Penguin Place / Snow Crystal – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK

I love how bright and white the heat-embossed snowflake looks against the red of the designer series paper. It acts as a perfect background for this cute little penguin. Do you love penguins? I have a friend who is mad about them. I was thinking of her when I made this card.

The Penguin Place stamp set has a matching punch for the penguin. I fussy cut out his hat and scarf. It is very simple fussy cutting but still, I was impressed with the outcome. I used the gold glimmer paper to give somewhere for my penguin to stand so he was floating. It adds that essential Christmas sparkle to the card.

How to Use the Snowball Accent Puff Paint - Santa Delivery - Crafting with Ashee - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Lincoln UK
How to Use the Snowball Accent Puff Paint – Santa Delivery – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK

I’ve used the Santa Delivery stamp set before and am in love with it. It’s just so cute. It really says Christmas to me. I’ve coloured it using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers as before. I do find it so relaxing, I can just lose myself in the colouring.

For a while, I’ve wanted to use the Snowball Accents Puff paint but it has just sat in my stash. I decided to use it at least. Here are my thoughts. It does puff up nicely. The puff is not solid but more squishy. It also is very light which is great for posting. You can see above I’ve used a small line of paint under the wheels of the train. Try to keep your line of paint quite thin as the thicker it is the longer it will take to puff up. Do make sure you get your heat tool, nice and hot before you bring it to the paint. It really needs to be hot to get the paint to puff up. If you get it hot before you bring it to the card there is less chance of your paper warping.

Normally, I’m not a fan of gnomes but I’ve fallen in love with this set. I think it’s because it’s perfect for colouring and I love to colour. These cuties are coloured using the Stampin’ Blend Alcohol markers.

The design is very simple with 3 little rectangles that are matted on a darker colour of the same design. Each little gnome has a little area of this own. The colours of the papers above are Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. Below you can see my other version which is Tahitian Tide and Starry Sky. Which do you prefer?

How to Emboss on a Blended Ink Background – Focus Friday – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up Demonstrator – Lincoln UK.

Welcome to another Focus Friday Project. Every month I chose a certain product or group of tecninques and each Friday for that month we focus on one specific technique. This month it has been embossing folders. Today we are looking at embossing onto an inked background.

I used a blending brush to ink the background first with Petal Pink and then Magenta Madness. I tried to get a varied mix of colours. The background was then embossed with the new Hive 3D embossing folder. The ink blending really highlights all the gorgeous texture from the embossing folder.

Simple Colouring with Alcohol Markers – Stampin’ Blends – Blessings of Home – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK.

If you follow my posts you will know I love to colour and paint. I find it so theraputic. It makes me happy. This lovely image is all one stamp from the new Blessings at Home set. It stamps beautifully and is so easy to colour. I’ve used the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers here as they make blending so easy.

If you are worried about colouring don’t be. Just start playing. Learn from any mistakes you may. Take you time and be easy on yourself. I colour from light to dark but you could equally go the other way. One trick is less is more. It is easy to add more colour but much more difficult to take it away. Just enjoy the process and of course have fun.
